The Institute Welcomes a New Board Director and Three New Members of the Advisory Board
The Renewables 100 Policy Institute is proud to announce a new Board Director and three new Advisory Board Members, all strong, smart, accomplished women.
Ms. Gonzalez serves as Environmental Affairs Officer at Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. A City employee for more than 20 years, she previously worked at the Harbor Department and at the Environmental Affairs Department prior to joining LADWP. Her accomplishments include running the LADWP Solar Program with excellence that was recognized publicly by the Mayor, City Council, and Board of Water and Power Commissioners, as well as winning the Earth Day City of the Yearâ€ award from the Interfaith Environmental Council and the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life.
Our new Advisors are:
Dr. Alexa Lutzenberger
Dr. Lutzenberger teaches at the University of Leuphana at Lueneberg, one of Germany's leading institutions on the study of sustainability, where she is a Member of the Institute of Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry. She also serves as committee member of BKK, the German biogenous and regenerative fuels association. Among other endeavors, she is additionally helping Dr. Harry Lehmann, Director of the German Federal Environment Agency, lead the European team on the Renewables 100 Policy Institute's proposed roadmap study for how to achieve 100% renewable energy in California.
Ms. McFarland has over 30 years of leadership experience in energy and environmental management, in the government, public interest and private sectors. She has served as Executive Director of the California Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA), the California Solar Energy Industries Association (Cal SEIA) and Americans for Solar Power (ASPV). She has served as Senior Policy Advisor at US EPA and as Policy Advisor at the California Energy Commission.
Ms. Hamilton currently serves as Dean of Institutional Development at Santa Monica College. She previously worked as Development Officer at Loyola Marymount University. She was also a successful litigator in her own firm and as a partner at Bourhis & Hamilton and was a former Vice President at RKO. In the legal dispute following the 200 presidential election, she served on the legal team representing former Vice President Al Gore.
