Facilitating Net Zero Energy Learning Tour of Hermosa Beach to City of Lancaster

The Renewables 100 Policy Institute was glad to bring together the Cities of Lancaster and Hermosa Beach for an exchange about how Lancaster is forging ahead on its vision to achieve net zero energy by 2020 and what lessons Hermosa Beach might learn, as it looks to achieve carbon neutrality. Institute Founding Director Diane Moss helped to spearhead and facilitate the gathering, which was hosted by City of Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris, along with top city staff, and which was attended by City of Hermosa Beach Mayor Pro Tem Nannette Barragan, City Council Member Hany Fangary, city staff, and several local engaged citizens. The afternoon began with a roundtable discussion hosted by Mayor Parris, followed by a tour to BYD, which chose Lancaster as its manufacturing sites for electric buses.
